Alberta Beef Producers – Our Mission, Our Vision
The mission of Alberta Beef Producers is to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of the beef industry for the benefit of Alberta’s beef producers. With 30,000 beef cattle producers in Alberta and only one organization to represent their collective interests, it is a mission we at ABP take very seriously. We believe the results of our commitment speak for themselves: the world knows Alberta is cattle country.
Our industry combines the progressive with the historic, the highly technical with the practical. From family-run ranches and farms passed down through generations to new, state-of-the-art feeding and breeding operations, the beef industry has stood the test of time. Our producers are dedicated to maintaining a sustainable, competitive industry for the benefit of all Albertans, and are proud of the role they have played in weaving this province’s strong economic fabric.
Alberta Beef Producers continues to lead the livestock industry in supporting programs that ensure animals are properly cared for during production and processing. ABP has been instrumental in developing policies and education programs that ensure humane handling standards are met. We work closely with Alberta Farm Animal Care (AFAC) a coalition of industry associations dedicated to establishing policies for good animal care in the province.
